Coach Originals Courier Bag | Black Glovetanned Leather

An iconic Coach silhouette, revived from the archives and found in remarkably preserved condition.

The Courier is one of those unmistakably Coach designs. Originally introduced in the 1970s and inspired by traditional equestrian bags, its sculptural curved flap, elongated tab closure and substantial leather construction have made the vintage original a coveted find among collectors.

This version comes from The Coach Originals, a collection created by Coach to revisit and reimagine some of the most beloved silhouettes from its archives.

And this particular Courier is a beauty.

Crafted from rich black glovetanned leather with warm contrast stitching, nearly every detail of the original design is allowed to shine. There are no loud logos or unnecessary embellishments here. Just beautiful leather, thoughtful construction and a silhouette that was good enough the first time around to still feel relevant decades later.

Condition

Excellent overall condition with minimal evidence of actual use.

The most remarkable thing about this bag is how beautifully preserved the areas associated with regular wear remain.

The corners and piping are exceptionally clean, the stitching is beautifully intact, the strap and closure show minimal wear, and the bag retains its strong original structure.

The interior is immaculate with no notable signs of use, and portions of the interior hardware still retain their original factory protective wrapping. While I cannot confirm that the bag was never carried, its condition suggests it saw very little, if any, regular use.

There are visible surface marks, light scuffing, creasing and pressure marks to portions of the exterior leather. Given the otherwise exceptional condition of the bag, these appear consistent with storage rather than significant carrying wear, though its history cannot be confirmed.

This is a collector's bag that deserves to finally be carried.

There are a few exterior marks from what appears to have been imperfect storage, but look beyond those and the condition is kind of incredible. Clean corners. Beautiful piping. Crisp stitching. A remarkably preserved strap and closure. An immaculate interior. Even factory wrapping still tucked around portions of the hardware.

I can't tell you with certainty that nobody ever carried her.

I can tell you she doesn't look like she got out much.

And perhaps that's the best part.

Because instead of spending another few decades tucked away somewhere, this Courier gets the chance to become what Coach made it to be in the first place: a beautifully made leather bag meant to be used, loved and carried for years.

A rare opportunity to own one of Coach's most recognizable archival silhouettes with the integrity of a much newer piece and all the character that makes Coach worth collecting.
